Mandela Day magic at Hearts of Hope

On behalf of the children and the staff at Hearts of Hope, we want to thank some of the many corporates and individuals who gave of their time and donated goodies over the Mandela Day period.

A wonderfully happy and fun Mandela Day

was enjoyed at Hearts of Hope this year.

Above is a team from Nedbank which spent the day cutting and peeling vegetables, fixing playground equipment and planting vegetables.

And below is the team from Dotgood who donated groceries, and spent time in song with the children at the pre-school and brought pictures of Madiba for the children to colour in

A warm winter's day was spent at the Standard Bank campus in Johannesburg central showcasing Hearts of Hope coffee at the Standard Bank Mandela Day Cause Market organised by ForGood. It was an entertaining day engaging with the staff of Standard Bank and selling our delicious coffee. We were ably assisted by our volunteer Ben Pinker, helping us out during his summer vacation from university in the UK.

Hearts of Hope received four new little ones last week. Here they are with Debbie and Lebo at the moment they were dropped off by the social workers. They have all been placed with new 'forever families' and we hope that their stay with us will be a nurturing and loving time while we wait for the conclusion of the statutory processes.

Thank-you to everyone who assists us in positively impacting the lives of

all the children at Hearts of Hope by bringing hope to the hopeless.

The work of Hearts of Hope continues daily as we care for the little

ones that arrive and ensure that those who leave are

'given back their childhoods'.
