📚Back to school preparation for 2026

It's that time of the year when Hearts of Hope

starts preparing for the new year of school in 2026.

4 of the children are starting Grade R at Wendywood Primary

School, and joining the other 13 children that are already

there, from Grade 1 - Grade 3.

We also have one girl at Delta Park Primary School

who will be going into Grade 5.

Here are the 4 Grade 00 children attending the Grade R open day at Wendywood Primary School with their housemothers.

They felt so big and excited about their new adventure.

The Department of Education has cut the learner funding allocation to Quintile 5 schools, of which Wendywood Primary is one, by over 50%, with the result being that the fees Hearts of Hope have to pay next year have risen hugely.
The school can no longer give us the discounts that we used to receive.

With 43 children at school next year, be it at primary school or pre-primary school at Wendywood Development Centre,
we are looking at
an average cost of R30 000 per child for education in 2026.
